We were appointed early in the build process of this four-bedroom family home in Newmarket, giving us the opportunity to reconfigure the internal layout and elevate the overall design. By reworking the floor plan, we created a spacious open-plan living area downstairs, while expanding the second floor to include a fourth bedroom, a dressing room, and an ensuite. These changes maximised both functionality and value, ensuring the home works beautifully for a growing family.
A calming, neutral palette flows throughout the property, carefully enhanced with considered materials and finishes to create a sense of understated luxury. Every element, from spatial planning to detailing, was designed to balance practicality with timeless style, resulting in a home that is both elegant and entirely suited to everyday family life.
The main challenge at Moor House was to optimise the layout of a newly built property to meet the family’s current and future needs. The project required reconfiguring the internal plan to improve flow, create additional functional spaces, and ensure that the home remained comfortable, practical, and visually cohesive.
The design also needed to achieve a sense of understated luxury without overcomplicating the interiors, creating a home that feels inviting, elegant, and functional for family living.
Our process began with careful assessment of the build plans and the family’s lifestyle requirements, identifying opportunities to maximise space and improve flow. We redesigned the downstairs layout to create a connected, open-plan living area, while adding a fourth bedroom, dressing room, and ensuite upstairs to enhance functionality and storage.
Throughout, we specified materials, finishes, and furnishings to complement the neutral palette and maintain a cohesive, calming aesthetic. Every decision was made to ensure the home is practical for everyday use, while delivering a timeless, elegant environment that supports family life now and in the years ahead.
Layout reconfiguration and internal spatial planning, addition of a fourth bedroom, dressing room, and ensuite, open-plan living area design for seamless connectivity, material, finishes, and colour palette selection to create understated luxury, full interior design and styling to ensure cohesion, practicality, and aesthetic appeal.
Moor House demonstrates how thoughtful interior design can elevate a new-build family home, combining practicality, comfort, and timeless style. The result is a home that is spacious, functional, and elegant — perfectly suited to modern family living.
